The Campaign

2026 · The Weekend · The Experience

The room we needed, so we built it.

Blk Girls Shoot started because too many of us were showing up to shoots, sets, conferences, and creative spaces as the only one in the room.

So we created our own.

BGS brings Black women photographers together for a weekend that's equal parts education, community, creativity, and business. This isn't about surface-level networking or sitting quietly in the back of a panel. It's about getting in the room, learning in real time, building relationships, and leaving better than you came.

Every year the community gets bigger. Every year the work gets better. And every year the room feels exactly like what we deserved all along.

What to Expect

Three days built with intention.

01

Friday · VIP Welcome Dinner

An intimate kickoff dinner for VIP attendees featuring guest speakers, conversation, and connection with women working across photography, creative direction, branding, and media.

This is where the introductions happen before the weekend even starts.

02

Saturday · Workshop Day

Hands-on workshops led by industry professionals actually working in the field right now.

No sitting through hours of talking at you. These are active sessions designed to help you grow your eye, your skill set, your confidence, and your workflow in real time.

GA attendees select two sessions. VIP attendees receive priority selection and access to all four.

03

Sunday · Business Conference

A full conference day centered around what it really takes to build a sustainable creative career.

From marketing and AI to pricing, systems, branding, and client experience – Sunday is about helping photographers stop guessing and start building smarter.

Why Attend

Because talent alone
isn't enough anymore.

  • Hands-On Learning

You shouldn't leave a workshop still confused. Every session is designed to give you tools, clarity, and techniques you can actually apply to your work immediately.

  • Industry Access

We're bringing in photographers and creatives who are actively building careers, landing campaigns, and creating work on their own terms – without the gatekeeping.

  • Business Education

A lot of creatives know how to shoot. Fewer know how to sustain a business. Sunday is designed to help bridge that gap with conversations around systems, strategy, marketing, AI, and growth.

  • Real Community

The biggest thing people leave BGS with isn't just content or education – it's people. Collaborators. Friends. Community. Women who understand exactly where you are and where you're trying to go.

Meet Mecca

I created BGS from experience.

I'm Mecca Clarke – photographer, creative entrepreneur, and founder of Blk Girls Shoot.

After years of being one of the only Black women in creative spaces, I wanted to build something that felt different. Something intentional. Something that centered us fully – not as an afterthought, but as the standard.

What started as a small creative meetup has grown into a conference weekend bringing together Black women photographers from all over to learn, connect, and build together.

BGS keeps growing because the need for spaces like this is still real. And I'm really excited for what we're building in 2026.
